Nanjing Center, China Geological Survey
(The Nanjing Institute of Geology and Mineral Resources), founded in
1962,is one of the subordinate research institutes of the Ministry of Land
and Resources of China, operated directly under China Geological Survey.
Nanjing Center, China Geological Survey's main task is to solve major
problems on earth sciences and technologies, related to regional land and
resources investigations, plans and long-term development, closely
integrated with demands of national economic constructions.
Nanjing Center, China Geological Survey undertakes functions on
management, coordination and supervision of East China geological survey,
entrusted by China Geological Survey, organizes and carries out regional
land and resources investigations and local comprehensive fundamental
geological works of East China, performs the duty to make a long-range
assessment of mineral resources of western China and launches geological
investigation in East China, giving full play to its superiority on
researches of volcanic geology and mineralogy, The Center has paid great
attention also to urban environmental geological survey, The Center is
research unit of comprehensive geological investigation, combined with
geological investigation, scientific research and professional management.
The Center has drawn attention from the colleagues in China and abroad, as
it constantly brings forth new idea in their studies, The Institute
recruits and cultivates bachelor and Ph.D. students on various branches of
geology.
