  From 2nd to 5th of November, 2013 China Mining Conference was held in Tianjin city, the director and the chief geologist of CGS Nanjing Center Mr Yajun Qu and Mr Guangfu Xing, Members from Head Office, Oversea Division and Instrument research and development center attended the conference.

 

  In the afternoon of 2nd of November, the deputy director general of China Geological Survey Mr Xuelong Wang had a meeting with the director of Papua New Guinea Mineral Resource Authority Mr Philip Samar and delegation at Intertech Hotel in Tianjin. Mr Wang put forward three suggestions: First is to familiar the relationship between two institutes, maintain the high-level contact, enhance the communication with each other, and boost the substantial co-operation in mining industry in both countries; second is to strengthen the communication, deepen and expand the co-operation in Geology survey field, both institutes could consider to co-operate in the geochemical mapping field; third is to strengthen the member contact, improve the technology level, increase the communication between members in the geology and mining industry, expand the common ground, deepen the understanding .Papua New Guinea delegation agreed with the idea of Mr Wang. Both parties signed the Memorandum of Understanding upon projects on 1:100000 stream sediments survey of Kainantu area in the south east part of Madang Province in Papua New Guinea and Low density geochemical mapping throughout Papua New Guinea.

 

  In the afternoon of 4th of November, the member of CGS leading party group, party secretary of Chinese Academy of Geological Science, vice-president Mr Xiaolie Wang met with the Peru’s mining division minister George Merino , ambassador to China Gonzalo Coutinel Peruvian and delegation at the Intertech Hotel. Mr Xiaolie Wang also put forward three suggestions: first is to promote the co-operating project, implement the content of the project item by item, make sure the project went smoothly; the second is to strengthen the communication, expand the field for co-operate. Especially emphasize more on geological mapping, resource potential evaluation, remote sensing aircraft filed, where our bureau have advantage in these subjects; the third is to reinforce the training of members, and open up channels for cooperation with China colleges and universities. Both parties signed the project cooperation agreements.

 

  On the night of 4th of November, Mr Xuelong Wang met with the direct general of DMITRE Ted Tyne and delegation at the Intertech Hotel. Both parties discussed about the cooperating project on ore-prospecting models and exploration technical method, they also signed the Memorandum of Understanding.
